Built for people who don't have Swedish as a first language

Most practice apps are made in Swedish, with translation as an afterthought. We flipped that.

What actually changed?

From 6 June 2026, stricter requirements apply for Swedish citizenship, including knowledge of Swedish and Swedish society. The first part — a test about Swedish society — is administered by UHR (the Swedish Council for Higher Education). A separate language test will be introduced at a later date.

15 AUGUST 2026

We tell you where the information comes from

Based on official material Our practice questions are designed as illustrative examples based on UHR's educational material "Sverige i fokus" (Sweden in Focus), and reviewed by a teacher with subject-matter expertise in Swedish as a second language.
Not official exam questions UHR has published five example questions for the real test — our practice questions are our own, based on UHR's educational material, not identical to the official examples.
No government affiliation We are not UHR or the Migration Agency — just a practice tool.
Medborgarplugg is an independent practice tool and is not affiliated with UHR, the Swedish Migration Agency, or the Swedish state. UHR is responsible for the citizenship test and states itself that it does not endorse practice material created by other parties, and that the quality of such material is not controlled by UHR or any other authority. We recommend you always read the official educational material at uhr.se (last updated 5 August 2026) and stay updated via UHR's own page about the citizenship test as well as the test day page (last updated 17 July 2026).

What you're probably wondering

Permanent residency alone doesn't exempt you. The knowledge requirement applies if you're between 16 and 66 years old. You can show your knowledge through grades from Swedish compulsory or upper secondary school, studies at komvux or folkhögskola, or a passing grade in SFI course D. If you lack such proof, you'll get the opportunity to take the citizenship test instead.
No. UHR has published five example questions on their website (uhr.se) to show the format and level. Our practice questions are designed as illustrative examples based on UHR's official educational material about Swedish society — same subject areas and difficulty, but not leaked or official exam questions.
It varies a lot depending on your background and how much time you can spend each week. Most people who practice regularly for 3–6 weeks feel ready, but the app adapts to your own pace rather than a fixed schedule.
The regular price is 349 kr per 3 months. As an introductory offer, until 30 July 2026, you get 30% off — 244 kr per 3 months, locked for the entire period you've paid for. You can cancel anytime, no commitment after the period.
According to UHR, the real test consists of about 60 multiple-choice questions with four answer options, one of which is correct. The test time is 90 minutes, the test is written on paper, and it's in Swedish.
UHR has not yet published detailed rules about retakes, but according to UHR you can retake the test the next time registration opens — contact the Swedish Migration Agency about what applies in your specific case. The first test was held on 15 August 2026 as a pilot test with generous time for everyone; results are published in October 2026.
No. The real, official test is always held in Swedish, regardless of what you choose in the app. In the app, you can practice in whichever app language you choose, and you can also turn on a translation language to see the question in an additional language at the same time — for example Swedish, so you recognize the words ahead of test day.
Registration for the 15 August 2026 test is closed, and UHR has not yet announced the next test date — that information will be published at uhr.se during autumn 2026. Once registration opens, you'll need a referral letter from the Swedish Migration Agency to register; the test is free of charge. About a week before test day, you'll receive a summons with the details on your UHR account.
Every question and answer is reviewed by a teacher with subject-matter expertise in Swedish as a second language, based on UHR's official educational material. They're not just automatically generated or sourced from elsewhere.
Yes. Every question has a Listen button that reads the question aloud in Swedish with natural pronunciation — great practice for both listening comprehension and pronunciation. Audio is currently available in Swedish only, regardless of which app language you've chosen.
Yes. The exam mode lets you run a practice test in the same format as the real one: 60 questions and a 90-minute time limit — marked as the 'Official' setting in the app. You can also choose shorter simulations of 10, 20, or 30 questions, or adjust the time limit between 60 and 120 minutes depending on how you want to practice.
It's a separate practice mode that only shows you questions you've previously answered incorrectly, so you can focus your review on exactly what you need to improve instead of going through all the material again from the start.
The app's progress page shows an overview of all 13 chapters with a separate progress indicator for each, plus how many chapters you've mastered overall. The app also highlights your weakest chapter directly, with a shortcut to practice that area.
